Elvin Suazo

Elvin Suazo owns the 25-Ha farm Finca Rancho Escondido in the La Paz department. The farm is home to around 90,000 coffee trees across the varieties of Red and Yellow Bourbon, Pacas, and IHCAFE 90. Among the coffee trees, he also maintains banana and lemon trees.

One challenge the farm often faces is a shortage of seasonal workers to help during harvest.

Farm Select

Part of our stratified buying approach, Farm Select Coffees come from individual farms. These are excellent, sometimes larger, lots of coffee that didn’t quite make it to microlot quality but are perfect for the roaster that values more traceability in their offerings along with an elevated cup profile. Supporting farm select coffees allows individual coffee farmers to directly receive monetary impact from the quality premiums paid for these coffees.
